I have been a photographer for the past 25 years and have loved every minute of it!
Early in my career, I took photography classes and worked at a photo center where I learned darkroom techniques and shot portraits, weddings and industrial photography. Later, I spent 14 years with Olan Mills Church Division where I took professional portraits of families all over the country. During the early 90's, I shifted to digital photography because Olan Mills was one of the first companies to support its use.
In 1997, I took the entrepreneurial plunge and started my own business, Jimmy Loyd Photography. This creative, rewarding endeavor has been my passion ever since, and I put heart into every picture I take. Not only do I have my own studio, I also freelance for various news media in the area including the Houston Chronicle. Currently I teach photography at Alvin Community College, Houston Center for Photography and West University Parks and Recreation.
If you have never worked with a professional photographer before, please let me be the first. I promise to make our session as enjoyable for you as it is for me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story!
