Levy Park Photography Workshop

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, join Houston Center for Photography at Levy Park in Houston for educational photography workshops! These community driven workshops focus on photography as a means for creative expression and basic photography skills. FREE to the public, and no prior experience is necessary! Learn and practice various aspects of photography such as composition and lighting while photographing the features of Levy Park. Classes meet under the pavilion. All levels and cameras types are welcome!

WHERE: Levy Park Conservancy, 3801 Eastside, Houston, TX 77098

WHEN: 9:00 - 10:30AM, every 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month until March 15, 2018

October 5th: Color & Foreign Object - Bring colorful objects to photograph within Levy Park and experiment with composition and color to create an image with impact.

October 26th: Story Telling - In this workshop, we will discuss how to shoot a sequence of images that captures a story.

November 2nd: Black & White - In this workshop, students will shoot in black and white to focus on the visual elements of tone, texture, and shape.

November 16th: Intentional Mistake - In this workshop, students will intentionally use typical photography mistakes to create interesting images.

December 7th: Story Telling-Image Selection & Sequencing - In this workshop, students will work on image selection and sequencing to convey a story. Please bring prints of photos taken during the "Story Telling" workshop on 10/26 or another sequence of photos you have taken if you were not present at this workshop.

December 21st: End of Year Review - Students will share images taken throughout the Levy Park workshop series and receive feedback from the instructor and group. Please bring prints of your strongest photos taken during any of the Levy Park workshops.
