Filters for the Camera & Computer

Class meets Monday, December 11, from 6:00-9:00pm

During this interactive class, students will experiment with various digital and physical filters to understand the effect that they have on photographs. Students will study color and gray scale value with glass filters for color and monochrome film as well as filters for digital cameras.

Some of the filters covered include: polarizing, warming, color correcting, variable neutral density, graduated neutral density and combined filters as well as band pass filters, additive and subtractive filtration. The instructor will also discuss digital filter effect plug-in programs and will demonstrate Nik filter effect programs on images. Lastly, we will talk about the importance of filters and the popular filters that should be in every photographer's camera bag.
