Opening Reception for Sight Lines: Looking at Guns and Learning Curve 9
HCP presents two exhibitions: Sight Lines: Looking at Guns and Learning Curve 9.
In light of recent events, conversations about the gun's visibility, accessibility, and impact in our society have become ever-present. Photographs of guns and gun-related violence have been important in shaping these dialogues across the political spectrum. Sight Lines highlights this discourse through the work of six photographers who each explore the various cultural implications of the gun from its aesthetic qualities to the wounds it leaves behind.
From digital to alternative processes, Learning Curve 9 highlights the various educational programs that HCP offers in its Learning Center through the work of its students. Student submissions were juried by Jason Dibley, Collections Manager, Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
All exhibitions are on view September 16 - November 13, 2016
Opening Reception 5:30-8:00pm
Sight Lines artist remarks at 6:00pm
