Opera in the Heights' La Cenerentola Dress Rehears

In this decidedly "un-Disney" version, instead of magic and pumpkin carriages, there are plenty of clever ruses and acts of kindness that lead to our heroine's happy ending.

To RSVP, email Joseph Roberts at joseph@hcponline.org or call (713)-529-4755, ext.10. If there are no more spaces available, you will be put on a wait list.

We've gotten the go ahead for a sneak peek at Opera in the Heights' (Oh!) new production of Gioachino Rossini's masterpiece La Cenerentola (Cinderella) before it opens to the general public, so get those cameras set for coloratura!

"Oh! has once again assembled some of the finest emerging artists in the country to bring this wonderful work to life,” says Eiki Isomura, Principal Conductor. “Our dynamic cast is sure to dazzle with its vocal pyrotechnics. Rossini's score is like musical caffeine; it pumps through your veins and lifts you up."

"La Cenerentola is the Cinderella story that I wish we all could have grown up with, one in which humility and kindness, rather than magic and beauty, triumph above all,” Isomura continues. “With comedic genius David Ward returning to Oh! as stage director, audiences can look forward to a hilarious and heartwarming production."

A note about photography at Opera in the Heights:
While the rehearsal begins at 7:00, we have been requested to meet at 6:15 - 6:30 in order to get an introduction from OiH's Executive Director, Miriam Khalili. She will lay out any guidelines for the evening (no flash, out-of-bounds areas, etc.) and answer any questions you might have.
