Pokémon Go at Hermann Park

Monday, August 8, 2016

Meeting Place: Parking Lot C, off of Hermann Drive between Crawford and Jackson Streets (see map below)

With Special Guest, Stuart Zagnit, voice of Professor Oak for over a decade in the Pokémon cartoon.

In less than a month, Pokémon Go has become an undeniable worldwide sensation, generating new buzz for museums, historical sites, and parks, all the while encouraging its players to get out and explore the world around them.

The game uses a smart phone's camera to augment the reality of its surroundings, superimposing Pokémon characters into the lens's field of vision. Users, or Trainers in the game's parlance, then aim to collect as many as possible and grow their manga menagerie.

With particular regard to Capture Crawls, members are encouraged to not only "catch 'em all", but get creative and use the game's photography feature to snap fun pictures in the process as well.

What to bring:

  • Smart phone with PokemonGo
  • Extra battery or charging pack if applicable
  • Bug spray
  • Bottle of water
  • Comfortable walking shoes

RSVP: please email membership@hcponline.org or call 713.529.4755 ext.10 by 12:00pm Monday, August 8. A final update email will be sent later that afternoon to those who have RSVP'd.

As a reminder, Capture Crawl events are available to members only. There will be no admission for family or friends.
