Tintype Portraits with Gravure Lumiere

Tintype Portraits with Gravure Lumiere

Have your portrait made in tintype, a 150+ year old photography process at HCP! Education Coordinator, Japheth Storlie, uses a 125-year-old camera and lens with a homemade darkroom on wheels to practice this Civil War-era process. Come down to HCP and sit for a 10 x 12 inch portrait that is yours to keep! Just in time for Valentine's Day, this makes the perfect one-of-a-kind gift! All proceeds will go to support HCP's free exhibitions and related programming. Space is limited so RSVP today!

Cost: $100 for members of HCP and $150 for non-members

The details: All portraits will be taken in 15 minute increments on Saturday, February 4th between 9:00am and 5:00pm. During the week of February 5th, Japheth will archivally wash the plates and then hand varnish them to protect them for years of enjoyment. All plates will be available for pickup from HCP after 11am Friday, February 10th.
