Calls for Entry
If you are an artist, writer, or curator, we warmly invite you to get involved with HCP's programming.
HCP produces 10 - 15 exhibitions annually both on and off-site. Our exhibitions are a fine balance of local and internationally acclaimed emerging, mid-career, and established artists. We look for work that is current, cohesive, stimulates dialogue, and promotes inquiry about photography.
In addition to our exhibitions, HCP also publishes Spot, a bi-annual photography magazine that includes artist portfolios, reviews of exhibitions and books, interviews, and highlights on HCP members' work.
Year-Round Exhibition Opportunities
HCP has an ongoing selection process run by the Exhibitions Committee of arts experts and community members. The Committee reviews submissions on a regular basis. Due to a high volume of submissions, the review process can take up to six months.

As a members-based organization, HCP proudly holds a call for entry for its Annual Juried Membership Exhibition. Juried by an internationally acclaimed specialist in the field, members' work is selected for exhibition in the HCP galleries.
Each year, Houston Center for Photography selects an expert writer, critic, or curator to identify two artists who exemplify excellence and innovation in their approaches to new photography.
The Houston Center for Photography Fellowship and the Carol Crow Fellowship Awards aim to highlight each artist’s work and to offer them a platform and the support to continue developing their projects. The two selected artists will each be awarded $3,000, a solo-exhibition at HCP in May 2019, and a spread in spot magazine.
Learning Curve is an annual exhibition of selected work made by HCP students from the past year. From digital to alternative processes, the exhibition highlights the various educational programs HCP offers through its Learning Center.
