Photography Summer Camp
Class meets July 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th, from 9:00 am–3:00 pm.
HCP’s Summer Camps introduce young enthusiasts to the world of photography. In this camp, students will become familiar with camera basics and photographic processing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge, learning color and image correction as part of the photographic process. Young photographers will also learn about the history of photography and how great images are created!
Summer Camps include lectures, hands-on activities creative writing, indoor and outdoor photographic sessions, editing and feedback sessions.
No prior photographic experience needed.
About the Instructor:
Laura Burlton is a professional photographer and native Houstonian.
Her love of photography started early on when her parents gave her her first camera at around the age of 8. Laura's current arsenal of cameras consists of lo-fi, pinhole and toy cameras and high-end digital equipment. She is also a full time professional photographer that specializes in wedding and portrait photography.
The devoted wife and mother of two often uses her family as subjects of her photographic musings. Laura's photography has been showcased in galleries and museums as close as Houston and as far away as Canada, Austria and Spain.
She has also had her photography published in several books and magazines including BW photography UK, Kamera & Bild (Sweden), Camera Arts (online only), Lightleaks Magazine, The Knot, Modern Luxury, Weddings in Houston, Plastic Cameras: Toying with Creativity (Focal Press), as well as several books published by the Lomographic Society of Austria. Her work is part of many private collections worldwide.

Registration for courses and workshops takes place through HCP's website on a first-come first-serve basis. HCP members receive discount on all of our education events. If this is your first time taking a course or workshop at HCP you will need to create a profile online; make sure to add the camp participant's name at the "student name" field. Registration will be complete upon receipt of the filled student form.
